Jamaica Plain Sucks

I hate working in Jamaica Plain. I hate driving through Jamaica Plain even more.

I have a few projects ongoing in JP and my work and travel there sucks. The residents of JP are yuppie families w/ 2.5 kids and a dog, pre-yuppie families with zero kids but a much younger dog. D.I.N.K.s, hipsters, a few elderly, and eccentric artists and apparently none of them work because they spend every weekday either calling in complaints to City Hall or crossing the street regardless of what the traffic lights are showing. People rag on Cambridge, MA but Jamaica Plain makes Cambridge look like Flint, MI.

The worst street in Jamaica Plain is Centre Street. There are a few close contenders but Centre is the worst for how long it takes to go through just one intersection because it's a nonstop flow of jaywalkers who don't bother bunching up and waiting to cross together with the traffic lights. JP residents treasure their crosswalks. They own them. And they will step into one no matter the traffic situation.

Here is a usual depiction of Jamaica Plain no matter what time of day. I typically spend 15 minutes at an intersection but I got tired/cramped drawing MSPaint drawings. The following is a good day in JP.

So in conclusion, Jamaica Plain sucks.

  1. You say you are copying Hyperbole and a Half, but Allie Brosh is funny, so you're not doing a good job.
